NOTE: The falling action and denouement occur very quickly in a matter of a few chapters, making the book very anticlimactic. This is why they are combined into one tab.

Falling Action: Christopher finds his Mother's flat and is reunited. She attempts to hug him, but he does not like intimacy and hugging, so he will only touch his hand to hers. She is living with Mr. Shears, who does not approve of Christopher living with them. Mother tries to postpone Christopher's A-Level Math exam which he had been preparing for all year, so he begins throwing a fit. As he is sleeping one day, he is woken up by commotion between Mother, Father, and Roger (Mr. Shears). They end up leaving back to Chris's Father's house, due to obvious growing problems with Roger.

Denouement: Christopher and Mother end up living together, and peace is made with Father. Toby dies, but Christopher learns to cope and accept it for what it is. He is given a new pet to love: a Golden Retriever named Sandy. He passes his A-Level Math test with an A Grade, which was virtually unattainable by anyone else in Christopher's class. He is very proud of himself and everything he has been through. He passed his A-Level, he wrote a book, and he had found out the mystery behind who killed Wellington. As far as he was concerned, "he could do anything."
